Jacqueline Pascal Morris Evans papers

Overview

Jacqueline Pascal Morris (later Evans) (1886-1947) graduated from Bryn Mawr College in 1908. Following her graduation, she and two cousins, Agnes and Alida, travelled through Europe for three months. Their route took them from Paris into Switzerland, and then down the Italian peninsular. They returned the same way, travelling along the French Riviera before their return from London. This collection contains 26 letters, written to Jacqueline’s father over the course of her travels.

Overview Margaret Trumbull Corwin (1889-1983) received an A.B. degree from Bryn Mawr College in 1912 with a major in French and a minor in German. After graduation she worked at Yale University Press until 1919. In 1916 she took a leave of absence to work as executive secretary to the Connecticut Women’s Committee of the Council of National Defense in Hartford, Connecticut. Dorothy Burr Thompson (1900 – 2001) was a prominent archaeologist who graduated from Bryn Mawr in 1923. She specialized in Greek terracotta. Burr Thompson and her husband, Homer A. Overview Andrew H. Woods (1872 – 1956) became vice president of Canton College in Guangzhou, China in 1899. He maintained his association with Canton Christian College throughout the Boxer Rebellion, or Yihetuan Movement, and the end of the Qing dynasty.
