Overview

This small volume contains autographs from faculty and students at Haverford College. It also includes newspaper clippings about marriages and deaths of people associated with Haverford College, and commencement ceremonies. Abstract Rufus Matthew Jones (1863-1948) was a Quaker historian, mystic, and philosopher. Born in South China, Maine, to Edwin and Mary Gifford Hoxie Jones, he taught philosophy at Haverford College between 1893 and 1934, and was involved in the Haverford Emergency Unit, American Friends Service, and Fellowship of Reconciliation, and is often attributed as having helped to unite Yearly Meetings in the United States. Anna Lau Familiar Places photographs

Morris Evans Leeds papers

The papers of Morris Evans Leeds (1869-1952), a Philadelphia Quaker who graduated from Haverford College and became president of Leeds & Northrup Company, manufacturers of precision instruments. He was also an inventor and developer. Leeds was a member of the Board of Haverford College and active on the School Board of Philadelphia.

This collection consists of letters to Anna Wharton Wood from her brother Edward Wanton Smith and Amelia Mott Gummere about the history of Haverford College. It also includes newspaper clippings and a list of apple trees on the Haverford College campus copied by Wood from the papers of her grandfather, Daniel B. Smith.
