Scope and Content note This collection is comprised of the single typed manuscript entitled "Foundations of English Literature," written by F.B. Gummere, a professor of English at Haverford. The manuscript discusses the history of the English language, and the history of various genres of English literature.

Scope and Content note This collection is comprised of the manuscript and proof Douglas Heath's "Growing up in College: Liberal Education and Maturity." The book expands upon Heath's work "Explorations of Maturity" and studies a small group of young men at a single college using the "theory of maturity" and aims to assist educators to clarify the goals of liberal education, and to explore what types of environmental determinants affect healthy development in young adults.
