The collection primarily consists of the correspondence and papers of members of twelve different families in the Philadelphia area. A great deal of the correspondence relates to concern for health and relationships among family members. Overview
Howard Haines’ autograph book contains five categories: Faculty, Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores, and Freshman. Each entry includes basic information on members of these categories, except in the case of the faculty, which was left almost entirely blank. His composition book contains several essays concerning animals, historical and contemporary figures, national histories, and notes on several scientific and mathematical subjects.

Rufus Matthew Jones was born on January 25, 1863 in South China, Maine. His parents were Edwin and Mary Gifford Hoxie Jones.
