Mary Meigs was born on April 27, 1917, and served in the U. S. Navy during World War II as a WAVE. She later became a painter, writer, and activist for elderly lesbians, and she had close ties with several other painters, writers, activists, and social commentators throughout her life. Overview In 1968 Steven Wayne Trimm was convicted for refusing induction into the armed services and served four years prison. Trimm fled to Canada in 1969 where he lived underground until 1974.
