The Penn Treaty Elm trading cards/ads consists of two small trading cards. The cards feature illustrations of the storied 1682 meeting between Lenape chiefs and William Penn used to advertise "Indian Chewing Gum" made by the Goudey Gum Company of Boston, and "Ayer's Cherry Pectoral" made by J.C. Ayer & Co of Lowell, Massachusetts

Historical Note
In 1682, under the shade of an elm tree on the banks of the Delaware River, William Penn met with a group of Lenape chiefs to draft what would become the Treaty of Amity and Friendship, whereby both parties agreed upon a plan for jointly occupying the territory that became known to the colonists as Pennsylvania.
