Scope and Contents

Histories, photographs, and other data written and gathered by T. Chalkley Matlack on "Friends Meeting Houses, and the Boarding Homes, Schools, and Burial Grounds associated with them," located in various sections of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, District of Columbia, Long Island, New York City, and other scattered localities; also his biographical sketches of prominent ministers and Friends, associated with American Friends meetings.

Twenty-one notebooks compiled by Matlack containing historical sketches and photographs of Friends Meeting Houses. Volume 18 is on prominent Quakers associated with Meetings in America (includes portraits). Volumes 20 and 21 are primarily photograph albums. Volumes are individually indexed and there is a separate, all name index [typed booklet] to volumes 1-19.
