Scope and Contents

The scrapbook includes gameday booklets, local newspaper clippings, and issues of "Haverford News" pertaining to the Haverford College football team's 1953 and 1954 seasons, following the victories and losses the team experienced during its competition with Wagner, Juniata, Ursinus, Hamilton, Union, Susquehanna, and Swarthmore and providing information on certain members of the team.

Biographical Note

Joseph Cauffiel was from Johnstown, Pennsylvania and was a member of the Haverford College class of 1955. In addition to majoring in psychology at Haverford, Cauffiel was an active member of the Haverford football team. During the 1954-1955 football season, Cauffiel served as co-captain, alongside Jim Braker, and received the Wright Cup for being the outstanding Haverford player in the 1955 Haverford-Swarthmore football game.
