Photographs are mostly of nature scenes, with some railroads and bridges included, as well as photographs of the Chicago Stock Yards. Many of the photos are labeled.

"A Cross Country Trip" is a photo album that follows an individual's month-long journey from Chicago, Illinois through Canada, the Northwest United States, and Southwestern United States before returning to Chicago. It includes images from Manitoba and British Columbia, Canada, Washington State, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and Illinois. While on this trip, the photographer captured images of the Chicago Stockyard, various industrial complexes, wildlife, canyons, rivers, and Native Americans.
The photographs are arrangd in a single volume. There is not a particular order to the photographs.
