This collection is composed of the single handwritten letterbook of Isaac Chapman. The book contains business correspondence, particularly related to the buying and selling of real estate, and information related to financial accounts and investments. All letters appear to be addressed to Wrightstown, Pa. Letter writers include: Henry R. Fell, James Buchanan, Edward Roberts, James Barten, E.W. Clark, Joseph Satterthwaite, Thomas Miller, Ellwood Lewis, Charles Meyers, Benjamin Scattergood, and William Hill.

Biographical note

Isacc Chapman (1820-?) was born in Wrightstown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, January 22, 1820 to Thomas and Rachel Chapman. He was a member of Bradford Monthly Meeting. He married Ruth A. Chapman in 1869.
