This collection is comprised of the single volume manuscript of Marty Voellmy Giessler's autobiography. The autobiography begins with her travel to Berlin from her home in Switzerland. She arrives as a student hoping to study the socialist movement and describes her experiences with other students and members of the "German Youth Movement."

Biographical note

Marty Voellmy Giessler (1895-1984) was born in Switzerland circa 1895. She married Fritz Giessler and the couple moved to the United States between 1935-1940. By 1940, Giessler and her husband have moved to Delaware. The couple had two children: Hansuli (b. 1928), and Vreneli (b. 1930). Marty Voellmy Giessler died in January of 1984 in Fraser, Michigan.
