John F. Headly scrapbook

This volume is a yearbook from the class of 1924, with images and clippings inside pertaining to their class reunions and the activities of John F. Headly. This book was brought to their 35th and 40th reunions and autographed. Annotations were also added to the book up until 1983 indicating which of the members of that class had passed away. For some of the alumni, a picture of them from these reunions was taped above their photo from 1924 in the year book. The scrapbook also includes correspondence and photographs from these reunions. There are also notes inside the yearbook when Headly is mentioned, including the story of how he met his wife Dorthy Folwell Irwin Headly.

Biographical / Historical

John F. Headly was born in West Grove Pennslvania on September 22, 1903. He graduated from Haverford College in 1924. At Haveford he was involved with the musical clubs, playing the mandolin. He attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School and he became one of the nation's most prominent corporate lawyers. He was interested inbusiness and corporate law and estate planning. He served on the coprorate boards of may companies and founded the Philadelphia Orchestra Pension FOundation. He was a member of the Middaw Club, Rittenhouse Club, West Grove Avondale Rotary Club, and the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and American bar associations. He married Dorothy Folwell Irwin Headly and they had three children. He died in 1980.
