Scope and Content note

This collection is comprised of two handwritten volumes of copied memorials for various Quaker women, including: Hannah A. Jenkins, Mary Allen Hanbury, Hannah G. Field, Mary Mekeel, and Avis Alsop. The memorials give brief biographical information for each woman, and many describe their final moments.

Biographical note

Hannah Jenkins (-1819) was married to William Jenkins. She died in twelfth month, 1819. She was buried on the first day of the first month of 1820 in the Friend's in Providence, R.I.

Mary Hanbury (1797-1823) was born in the ninth month, 1797, the daughter of William and Mary Allen. She was a member of the Grace Shurch Street Monthly Meeting in London.

Hannah G. Field (1778-1824) was born in tenth month, 1778, the daughter of John and Esther Griffen. She was married to Josiah Field, and died in seventh month, 1824.

Mary Meekel was the daughter of Isaac and Sarah Mekeel.

Avis Alsop was the wife of John Alsop.
