Biographical / Historical
Albert Lang Baily was born in Vassalboro, ME on June 22, 1859 to Joshua Longstreth Baily and Theodate Lang. He entered Haverford College in 1874 from Philadelphia, PA. During his time at Haverford, Baily was the "Spoon Man", class secretary, secretary and president of Athenæum, won the Cricket Fielding Belt, and was on the First Eleven. After graduating in 1878, he became a dry goods commission merchant. He married Eliza Montell Lycet on April 2, 1888. Together they lived in Haverford, PA. They had a child, Albert Lang Baily Jr, who also attendd Haverford (Class of 1912).
