Abstract Richard Price's letters to fellow Hicksite Quaker John Watson provide a rich account of the Hicksite-Orthodox Separation with references and comments on many of the personalities involved: Elias Hicks, William Wharton, Jonathan Evans, as well as visiting Quaker ministers including George Truman, Lucretia Mott, Ann Jones, Mary and Susan Cox, and Martha Smith. Journal of Caleb B. Cope, documenting a religious visit to England in 1876 in the company of Daniel Koll, a Quaker minister of the Primitive Friends. Fritchley Meeting served as their base. Also includes a transcript of the journal and a photocopycopy of the deed for the North Dartmouth Monthly Meeting meeting house, 1850.

This volume contains two copies in the same hand of the account of the charge against Anne, Thomas, and Phebe Willis before Jericho Preparative and Monthly Meetings and their defense of their views; the first version includes a copy of the essay written and signed in their defense, and the second version omits the essay but includes more detail about Elias Hicks' remarks.

Redman family papers

Abstract

This collection includes Mercy Redman's journal of her visits to eighty-seven meetings in New York, New England, and Pennsylvania. During this time she met and travelled with John Woolman. Also included is a copy of the record kept by Thomas Redman of his imprisonment and trial for refusing to take an oath of loyalty to the United States. A poem written by John E. Redman and various other family documents are also included.

Job Scott letters

Abstract

This collection contains three letters written by Job Scott to fellow Quaker Hugh Judge. Scott wrote the letters while travelling in religious ministry in Oxbridge, Philadelphia, and Charleston, S.C. The letters mostly contain spiritual musings.

Abstract This collection includes 10 memorandum books of Samuel Smith, recounting his experiences as a travelling Quaker minister on his journeys in the eastern United States, Liverpool, London and Scotland. Also included is the copy book of a certain "S.B." of Darby Monthly Meeting, dated 1740-1746. This book contains tables of climates and distances, home remedies, and personal financial records. Abstract

This collection contains the completed questionnaires and related correspondence which were the basis for C. Marshall Taylor's Trends amongst Friends : Study which was made as a result of a questionnaire sent to pastors of Friends churches in U.S.A. The study was made independently by Taylor to survey the reaction of Friends pastors concerning the possibility of unification of all American Friends.
