Abstract The collection contains correspondence received by Philadelphia Quaker merchant John Ladd Howell and his family. The majority of the letters were sent by his father, John Howell, addresseed to him and to his mother during extended absences in North and South Carolina and Georgia. Holdrege Liverpool to New York 1833: Some Recollections of England &c." 1833, manuscript Recollections of travel in England and Scotland in 1833 by Jabez Jenkins.
