Abstract Includes Townsend Cooper's receipt book, 1870-74, and miscellaneous receipts, the disownments of Elizabeth and Mary Cooper, a printed invitation to a quilting party, 1831, and other miscellaneous materials. Also includes genealogical notes on the Cooper and Hibberd families.
Abstract This collection is composed of correspondence of Elizabeth Howell and her family, Philadelphia-area Quakers. Most of the letters were received by Elizabeth Howell, many are condolence latters on the death of her mother in 1866. In addition to family news, there is a receipt for tuition at Friends Select School, a letter of acknowledgement from Israel Howell to Chester Monthly Meeting, and a short note relating the reaction of the author to the assasination of Abraham Lincoln. Abstract This is a collection of papers relating to the troubles over the New Light faction in Lynn Monthly Meeting, Massachusetts. Included are copies of letters and articles, and personal written accounts of the events at Lynn Monthly Meeting from 1822-1826 that led to the trial of New Lights, including Jonathon Buffum, John Alley, Jr., and Mary Newhall. Abstract This collection includes letters and papers of the Roberts and French families. Included is a record of the disownment of Asa Roberts from the Orthodox meeting in 1828, presumably due to his Hicksite beliefs,and a letter from John Mott to Josiah Mott, regarding Quaker testimony and issues of the Hicksite separation. Also included are wills and deeds of Robert French and other members of the family, as well as maps and charts of their properties in Burlington County, NJ.
