National Mental Health Foundation; began as the Mental Health Program of Civilian Public Service begun by World War II conscientious objectors at the Philadelphia State Hospital at Byberry; the National Mental Health Foundation was incorporated in May, 1946; later known as the a National Association for Mental Health; Correspondents include Harold Barton, Executive Secretary of the Foundation.
