Biographical / Historical

Edgar R. Norton; Edgar Richard Norton; Ted Norton; born 1928 in New York state; lived in Glens Falls, New York; member of the Society of Friends (Quakers); conscientious objector to the military draft, he received a four month prison sentence in 1949 for his failure to register; Norton was offered probation if he registered, but he refused; Norton was defended by Harrop Freeman; although Norton did spend time in jail, his indictment was dismissed on August 8, 1950.
