Minnie Clapp Mygatt diaries
Abstract
Volume I was written in Paris, April 1879-April 1880. Volume II contains entries by Minnie Clapp Mygatt and a few by her husband during the four years of their marriage (1884-1888) and later entries and revisions during her first years as a widow. Written primarily in New York City, the entries focus on domestic life, love and sexuality, and religion.

Biographical / Historical
Minnie H. Clapp (1856-1949) was the daughter of Nicholas D. Clapp and Mary MacMahon Clapp. She married D.S. Dickinson Mygatt in 1884. Their children were Tracy Dickinson Mygatt (whose papers are in the Swarthmore College Peace Collection) and Henry R. Mygatt.
