Biographical / Historical

Dunnings Creek was established as a monthly meeting in 1803 by Warrington Quarterly Meeting. Following the Separation of 1828, the majority of members in the meeting affiliated with the Hicksite branch of Friends. Orthodox Friends withdrew and established the Dunnings Creek Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) in 1831; this meeting became Fishertown Monthly Meeting in 1918. In 2010 Fishertown Monthly Meeting merged with Dunnings Creek.

In 1790 all meetings in Northern Virginia, Western Maryland, Nottingham Quarter, and meetings farther west in Pennsylvania were assigned to Baltimore Yearly Meeting.
