Biographical / Historical
Madison Preparative Meeting was established in 6mo 1809 by Duanesburg Monthly Meeting. It was placed under the care of Butternuts Monthly Meeting six months later. Madison Preparative Meeting was adjourned to Butterfield in 4mo 1811. It became a part of Bridgewater Monthly Meeting on its establishment 5th mo 1817 and then became part of Smyrna Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) on its establishment in 1836. Brookfield Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) was laid down sometime after 1854.
