Biographical / Historical

An indulged meeting was first established at Plumstead by Buckingham Monthly Meeting in 1727, and Plumstead Preparative Meeting was established ca. 1731. The Orthodox branch of the preparative meeting was discontinued in 1878, and the Hicksite in 1867. By 1900, the meeting for worship was held on an occasional basis. Plumstead Worship Group reopened the building for regular use in 1989 under the care of the Buckingham Meeting. In 2002 it became a monthly meeting.
