Biographical / Historical
A meeting for worship at Upper Springfield was established under Burlington Monthly Meeting and Chesterfield Monthly Meeting by 1727. From 1776 to 1781, Upper Springfield Friends were members of two preparative meetings, one for Chesterfield Monthly Meeting members at Upper Springfield, the other for Mount Holly Monthly Meeting members at Mount. In 1783, the meeting for worship and a preparative meeting at Upper Springfield became part of Upper Springfield Monthly Meeting. At the time of the Separation two preparative meetings were formed.
The Orthodox preparative meeting and meeting for worship were discontinued in 1844 and the members transferred to Mansfield Preparative Meeting.
The Hicksite preparative meeting was discontinued circa 1899 and the meeting for worship was discontinued by 1908.
