Biographical / Historical

A meeting for worship at Wilmington was established in Twelfth Month, 1737/1738 by Chester Quarterly Meeting under Kennett Monthly Meeting. A preparative meeting was established there by 1750. After the Separation of 1827-1828, there were two Wilmington Preparative Meetings. The Orthodox preparative meeting was discontinued in 1907. Regular sessions of the Hicksite preparative meeting were suspended in 1891.
