In 1980, Jack and Felice Cohen-Joppa became co-coordinators of the National No-Nukes Prison Support Collective, which educated about peace issues and advocate for imprisoned anti-nuclear activists. The Cohen-Joppas also published The Nuclear Resister newsletter as an essential element of this work. In 1988 the organization changed its name to The Nuclear Resister.
