Overview Samuel Allinson was a Quaker active in early New Jersey politics. The commonplace book of Samuel Allinson includes reflections on a variety of topics, including: Jealousy, Constancy and Fortitude, Human Trouble or Infelicity, Deceit, Novels, Romances, Riches and Poverty, Parents and Children, Women, and Marriage. He also includes remarks on slavery (p. 71), and extracts of poetry.

Abstract This collection contains the correspondence of the Alsop and Brown families, particularly Othniel Alsop, Hannah Brown Alsop, and Othneil's English siblings, Ann and Robert Alsop. Other correspondents include Alice Jackson, Mary Coffin, and Ann Douglas. Also included are Othniel's naturalization documents, various wills, and calling cards from friends. Bent Andresen Collected Papers

Abstract Bent Andresen registered as a conscientious objector during WWII, and was sent to a Civilian Public Service in 1944. Andresen participated in a "guinea pig project" in which he and several other C.O.s lived in a refrigerated room for three months to test the impact of a high-protein diet on cold-weather conditions. He went AWOL in 1945 and was sentenced to two years in prison. Andreson was involved in various peace/justice groups throughout his lifetime.
