The collection contains correspondence received by members of the Ely family, Quakers of Bucks County, Pa. The bulk of the correspondence concerns estate matters received by Hugh B. Ely as an executor of the estate of Elias Ely. The second group is largely family correspondence received by Mary Anna Ely who married Moses Eastburn. Abstract
The collection contains correspondence received by members of the King family, Quaker residents of Ceres, McKean County, Pennsylvania. The letters primarily deal with family concerns. One from Mary (King) Swayne, written in 1817, mentions that her husband, Joel Swayne, had contemplated returning to Indian territory but her poor health prevented his leaving. Anna King mentions her students and is distressed by the tensions in the Society of Friends in 1828.

Johnson; four from Arabella Carter; and a single letter (1886) is from Alice Bowman Comly at Swarthmore which mentions improvements at the College made on the observatory and a new track and grandstand.
