Aimwell School records

Overview The Aimwell School in Philadelphia was founded in 1796 by Anne Parrish (1760-1800) for the purpose of providing "a good English education" in the "primary and grammar grades" for poor girls. It was instituted by the Society for the Free Instruction of Female Children and operated under the management of the Society of Friends.

Overview Minutes and financial records for the "Here a Little, There a Little" Chapter of the King's Daughters, an international Christian philanthropic association. Howard Institution (Philadelphia, Pa.)

Overview The Howard Institution was a Quaker women's charity founded in Philadelphia in 1853 to provide shelter to discharged female prisoners. Its scope was later broadened to assist more generally troubled women and girls. It ceased activity in 1956.
