Sarah Wistar diary

Scope and Content note This collection is composed of the single handwritten diary of Sarah "Sallie" Wistar. Early entries describe Sallie's classes and studies in her efforts to earn her high school diploma, while later entries describe social calls, illnesses in the family and other family news, as well as Sallie's responsibilities as the eldest daughter living at home.

Andrew H. Woods papers

Overview Andrew H. Woods (1872 – 1956) became vice president of Canton College in Canton, China in 1899. He maintained his association with Canton College throughout the Boxer Rebellion and the dethronement of the Manchu Dynasty. Woods moved back and forth between China and the United States with his wife, Fanny Sinclair, who graduated from Bryn Mawr in 1901. In 1929, the couple and their children settled in Iowa. John Woolman diary
