Francis G. Allinson photograph album

Overview Francis G. Allinson's photograph album features photographs from his travels in Europe, particularly of landscapes, buildings, ruins, and mountains. According to some of the labels on the photos, a number of photos were taken in Germany, along the Rhine river. Also included are a number of Quaker portraits, including those of Charles S. Taylor, Abraham Taylor, Lizzie Rob, Belle Pugh, Amelia Gummere, Bessie Eyre, William Kimber, Howard Taylor, Samuel Alsop, Edward Allinson, and Samuel Gummere.

Fritz and Karoline Solmitz papers + ?

Overview Fritz Solmitz (1893-1933) was an early and outspoken leader in the opposition to Nazism, an editor of a Social Democratic newspaper in Lübeck and a member of the City council. Because of his active opposition to the Nazis, and probably because he was a Jew, he died of mistreatment in a German prison shortly after Hitler came to power. Karoline Somitz (1893-1966) was, like her husband, active in civic affairs. Much of the collection contains letters and photographs, some translated from German.

Overview The collection contains photographs of the family of Quakers Ezekiel Hunn and Lydia Jones Sharpless Hunn and their granddaughter, Katherine Hunn Karsner, who married Joseph Reed Karsner in 1930. Compiled Katherine Hunn Karsner, it includes 19th century family albums, early twentieth century photographs, and also focuses on Katherine's daughter, Mary Ann Karsner Kegler (1932-1983) who moved to Alaska as a college student and was one of the founders of Chena Ridge Monthly Meeting.
