Overview A general meeting for Friends in the Delaware Valley area was first convened at Burlington in 1681. Abstract The Bowles family was deeply involved with Quaker missionary and relief work during the 20th century. In 1900, the Bowles moved to Japan under the auspices of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and managed the Friends School and established the Tokyo Friends Center. Overview Friends Fiduciary Corporation of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends was created in 1975 by a merger of the Trustees of the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting and the Friends Fiduciary Corporation. The Fiduciary Corporation primarily manages and invests funds entrusted to it by Friends meetings and organizations, which are commingled into a Consolidated Fund.

Overview The Waltons were prominent Quakers in Philadelphia, Pa., and Belmont County, Ohio. Joseph Walton (1817-1898) taught at Westtown School, edited the Quaker periodical, The Friend, and served as Clerk of Philadelphia Yearly Meeting (Orthodox). His brother, Samuel Walton (1827-1899), moved to Ohio in 1847 and in 1854 married Sarah James Edgerton at Stillwater Monthly Meeting, the center of Wilburite Quakerism in Ohio.
