Biographical / Historical

Elba Preparative Meeting was reportedly established in 1818 as a part of Farmington Monthly Meeting, and called Batavia Preparative prior to 1820. It was set off to Hartland Monthly on its establishment in 1821. After the Separation, the Orthodox branch of Elba Preparative became a part of Elba Monthly Meeting on its establishment in 1839. Starting in 1904, this meeting met bimonthly, and in 1908 it started meeting annually.
