Biographical / Historical

An indulged meeting known as "Milltown" was established in this area for the summer months in 1784 by Uwchlan Monthly Meeting. Downingtown Meeting was established by Caln Quarterly Meeting in 1806; a preparative meeting was established in 1811.

There appears to have been no Hicksite branch of this meeting. The Orthodox preparative meeting was absorbed by Uwchlan Monthly Meeting in 1907.
