Biographical / Historical
The Committee, originally called Women's Work Committee, prepared women for "service at home and abroad." The Unit was set up at Highacres Farm, Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, by the American Friends Service Committee Peace Section and Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Study of simple-living techniques, pacifist philosophy, and inter-racial harmony was promoted.
