The Massachusetts League for Peace Action, relying on the traditional peace societies to perform educational work, used its energies in the field of political action to build a statewide constituency to oppose war. The Massachusetts League cooperated with similar Leagues in other states to encourage citizens to become politically active in order to prevent future wars.
