Abstract

This collection includes letters received by Walter L. Moore in the year 1922-23, primarily regarding his visit to Iowa Yearly Meeting. Included are letters from Howard T. Jones, Benjamin S. Decou, Carl Patterson, Joseph S. Heald, Walter J. Brown, and Samuel Smedley. Also included are a request for contributions to the Scattergood seminary and a page of notes made by Walter L. Moore regarding his trip to Paullina, Iowa, including the number of members.

Biographical / Historical

Walter L. Moore was a birthright Quaker, born in 1858, the son of Kirkwood and Esther Moore. In 1887 he married Elma Harvey. As a Quaker minister he travelled to Iowa in 1922, and attended Iowa Yearly Meeting. Walter Moore died in 1945.
