Overview This small volume contains songs and poems collected by Thomas S. Downing Jr. (1852–1926) during his time at Haverford College. Downing, the son of a prosperous farmer in West Whiteland, Chester County, Pennsylvania, attended Haverford from 1869 through 1872. Overview This album contains about ten entries of autographs that were pasted into a volume between 1868 and 1871. These entries contain people's names and sometimes the date and their college affiliation. Most of the entries in this album are song lyrics. At the bottom of the lyrics are names of Haverford students, the year the lyrics were added to the album, their graduation year, and their hometown.
