Charles E. (Charles Eugene) Fager Papers

Overview Charles Eugene Fager is a Quaker writer, publisher, educator, and activist. Born in 1942, "Chuck" Fager graduated from Colorado State University and attended Harvard Divinity School. After working for the Southern Christian Leadership Conference in Selma, Alabama, he performed Vietnam CO alternative service at Friends World College in 1966. This collection includes eight oral history interviews with Jewish alumnae/i conducted by Caitlin Haskett (class of 2020) during a fellowship project, "Mid Century Jewish Mawrtyrs: A Collection of Oral Histories," through the Pensby Center between June and July 2019. Scope and Contents The Oral History Project, part of the Tercentenary Committee, includes a July 1992 overview of participants deposited with NYYM by Nancy Sorel. That participants list includes well over 100 names, but the Friends Historical Library received approximately 80 transcripts and 40 audiocassettes.
