Scope and Content note The correspondence, 1785-1840, primarily concerns lands belonging to Henry Drinker (1734-1809) near Southport, PA and with financial matters, though there is also a letter from John Pemberton to Drinker in 1792 inviting him to dine with Indians. Letter writers include George Churchman, Rebecca Jones, John Pemberton, David Sands, Samuel Fisher, George Dillwyn, William Dillwyn, Henry Drinker and others. One letter is from William Alexander to Nathan Kite in 1840.
Scope and Contents These papers are the from a law firm in Philadelphia, run by Edward Shippen Burd (1779-1848) and Eli Kirk Price (1779-1884). The papers date from between 1805 and 1855. Letters are largely on financial matters, such as the payments owed to Burd and Price, and matters related to the lawyers serving as the executors of estates. Scope and Content note This collection is composed of the single volume account book of Jacob R. Elfreth, who served for many years as the treasurer of the Darby Preparative Meeting. This volume was the record kept by Elfreth as treasurer of the meeting and includes names of members and their occupations, and cash balances for each member.
