Overview "A Cross Country Trip" is a photo album that follows an individual's month-long journey from Chicago, Illinois through Canada, the Northwest United States, and Southwestern United States before returning to Chicago. It includes images from Manitoba and British Columbia, Canada, Washington State, Oregon, Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and Illinois. While on this trip, the photographer captured images of the Chicago Stockyard, various industrial complexes, wildlife, canyons, rivers, and Native Americans.
Scope and Content note This collection is comprised of the single volume photograph album of Francis G. Allinson. The album features photographs from Allinson's travels in Europe, particularly of landscapes, buildings, ruins, and mountains. Scope and Content note This collection includes photographs from WWI Europe. Photographs include those taken on the ship to Europe, at a hospital in France, and at a number of battlefields throughout Europe. This volume includes graphic images of war casualties.
Scope and Contents This album begins with portraits of older men, some of whom are identified. It then includes portraits of students from Haverford College class of 1872, with some of their names identified in pencil under their portrait. There are a few group photographs from this class as well. There are also photographs of a few women, a child, a tent, and the astronomy observatory at Haverford College. "Mrs. Ellis Y. Brown Jr. Downingtown, Chester Co Pa" is written on the first page of this volume.
