Entries detail Susan’s daily life and include prayers, religious reflection, descriptions of visits to friends and family in Philadelphia and Burlington, N.J., and Births, deaths, and marriages within her family and the Quaker community. Foulke also describes the sermons of Elias Hicks, which she heard at various Meetings.

"Notes on Early Friends Attending Meetings"

Scope and Content note This collection is comprised of the single volume manuscript by Jeffrey Smedley, entitled "Notes on Ealry Friends Attending Meetings." The beginning of the volume was used to record financial transactions, but the majority of the volume describes testimony given by various Quakers at Meetings for worship, arranged chronologically. Many of the entries are related to Elias Hicks.
