Scope and Content note This collection is comprised of the single volume, "Essays in Prose and Verse," originally written by Samuel Morris. According to the note on the inside cover, the essays and poetry inside were written by Samuel Morris when he was 13, and again later when he was a student at Haverford College in 1843. This volume is a copy of the original, and is copied by Beulah S. Morris, who wrote this copy as a gift for her father, on his 55th birthday, in 1846. The volume is largely composed of poetry, but...
