Scope and Contents Elizabeth Fry (1780-1845) was a prominent English Quaker prison reformer. In this autograph letter, she requested permission for her brother to visit prisons in Paris. Delessert was a prominent banker and president of the Paris Chamber of Congress. Fry was with a delegation of Quakers visiting prison, asylums, and hospitals in France.
