Abstract Nathalie Gookin was a student at Bryn Mawr from 1916-1920. Her collection consists of daily letters written to her parents and aunt during her time in college, as well as some letters from before she matriculated and some from after she graduated. She was admitted to Bryn Mawr with a $100 Western States Scholarship at the age of sixteen and she was the youngest person in the college. Abstract The poet and philhellenist H.D. (Hilda Doolittle) was born in 1886 in Bethlehem, PA. Around 1895, the Doolittle family moved from the Moravian community in Bethlehem to Upper Darby. While living in Pennsylvania, H.D. met fellow poets Ezra Pound, to whom she was briefly engaged, and William Carlos Williams. Abstract Margaret Hilles was born in 1870. She went to secondary school in Wilmington and later attended Bryn Mawr College, graduating in 1893. Her husband was a mining engineer, and she did a large amount of travelling until his death in 1919. Hilles was involved in a number of groups. She was active in Friends organizations and a founder of the Chester County Library Association. Abstract

Genealogical and biographical documents for Anne Williams Kierstead, BMC 1943, and her mother, Helen Elizabeth Jones Williams, BMC 1906. Included are: letters from Kierstead to her family while she taught and traveled in Turkey in the late 1940's, a diary and an autobiographical account of Williams' travel in Europe during the outbreak of WWI, and a genealogy of the family compiled by Kierstead in 1976.
