Abstract
In 1974, Philadelphia Yearly Meeting was restructured: three Coordinating Committees were each given oversight of the committees and programs under its care. The Coordinating Committee II, more frequently referred to as CC-2, had general responsibility for Testimonies and Concerns. In 1998, a system of standing committees replaced the three Coordinating Committees within Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. Abstract
The Meeting for Social Concerns began as the Committee for Social Concerns with a deliberately loose structure and open membership. It assumed direction of numerous social action committees within Philadelphia Yearly Meeting. After the Meeting for Social Concerns was laid down in 1974, these committees were placed under Coordinating Committee for Testimonies and Concerns (CCII).
