Abstract Morgan Bunting (1863-1929) was a member of the Society of Friends in Darby, Pa., and a descendant of Samuel Bunting (1692-1759) who emigrated from England in the early eighteenth century. An architect by occupation, Bunting had an avid interest in Darby history and genealogy. The collection includes correspondence and genealogical papers concerning the Sellers, Cadwallader, Bartram, and Coleman families. Scope and Contents

Records include: minutes since 1684; vital records since 1670; women's minutes; ministers and elders' minutes; financial and property records, etc. Records include a digitized minute book (held by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania) and a digital press release related to Darby Meeting's history with the Underground Rail Road.

Abstract

This collection consists of documents relating to the withdrawal of Elizabeth Sellers from the Society of Friends and her subsequent disownment. Included is a letter from to Darby Monthly Meeting explaining her reasons for leaving the Society of Friends. In the letter she accuses Quakers of failing to take action on issues of temperance, pacifism, and abolition. Also included are genealogical notes on the Sellers family.
