The collection contains a series of letters written by Fred or as he was later known Maxfield Parrish, addressed to his grandma. The letters were all written in Paris and Hastings in the early 1880s. In them, Parrish describes his days and his relationship with his parents.

The collection consists of letters, original drawings and illustrations, magazines to which he contributed, catalogs, calendars and his famous chemistry notebook created while a student at the college

Abstract

The signature albums of Irvin C. Poley include autographs of famous people, particularly authors, actors, and those in government or diplomacy, primarily sent to Poley, though there are other recipients as well. Many of the instances are signatures. Some of the more well-known authors who wrote letters, rather than just signatures, often relate to speaking at an event or a fund solicitation or response to comment or request for signature from Poley.
