- Existence: 1906 - 1985
Found in 11 Collections and/or Records:
This collection contains a series of folders of miscelleneous prints from Seymour Adelman's collection. These prints were put here because they didn't fall into any of his main categories of collecting (architecture, portraiture, publishing, history of Philadelphia, etc.), and because they were not appropriate as objects for the art and artifact collection.
This is a collection of portraits on paper. Most of this collection is portraits of specific artists and writers, but there are also some unidentified drawings and caricatures. The collection contains lithographs, intaglio prints (mostly engravings), and a few drawings. See folder descriptions for more details.
This is a collection of miscellaneous scientific prints, including ornithological, botanical, and conchology prints. Most of this material was collected by Seymour Adelman. For a detailed breakdown of the collection’s materials, see the “Collection Organization” tab. And, for further resources on this type of material, please also search for botanical books in Bryn Mawr College’s Rare Books, and for individual prints in the Tri-College collection of Art and Artifacts.
