Info Projects 84-24, 84-26 to 84-50. HC's Student Work Program gathers volunteers to clean up campus to mark "Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful Day" (84-28). Robert M. Gavin Jr., provost and professor of chemistry at HC, to leave over the 1984 summer to assume the role of President at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota (84-30). No 84-31. Mark Miller, a HC senior, one of three winners nationwide to receive a Keasbey Memorial Foundation Scholarship (84-32). No 84-33. HC Spring of 1984 Commencement to be the first fully coeducational class graduation in the college's history, and will host the college's first woman Commencement speaker, the feminist poet and novelist Marge Piercy (84-34). No 84-35. Graduation news stories at HC, including a timeline of the transition from a men's school to co-ed (84-36). Lucy Barber, a sophomore at HC, awarded a four-year, $20,000 Truman Scholarship (84-37). Richard Webb appointed director of counseling services at HC (84-38). Nina Taggart becomes first person since 1973 to receive a Master of Arts Degree from HC (84-39). John Nelson, following his graduation in May 1984, to take a year of study in India with his Watson Fellowship (84-40). Nancy (Missy) Parks receives Watson Fellowship, plans to study for a year in England and France (84-41). HC adds diversity requirement that all students must successfully complete at least one course that focuses either on history, culture, or perspectives of non-western people, minorities in the USA, or women, OR, prejudice in history based on religion, culture, ethnicity, or sexual orientation (84-49). HC President Robert Stevens's book, Law School: Legal Education in America from the 1850s to the 1980s, receives an award in the 1984 American Bar Association Gavel Awards Competition (84-50).
